Using Toe Rings To Make A Splash This Summer

If you want to make a real splash this summer, with a new style, then one of the options open to you is to make your feet sparkle with fashionable toe rings. It is nice to pamper them in the warm weather, after a winter locked away in thick socks and boots, so what better way than freshening them up with a professional pedicure, and some shiny new accessories. The fantastic thing about toe rings is that they are so inexpensive to buy, and they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and designs. It's a good idea to buy several different ones, especially as they are cheap, because it is quite easy for them to fall off and get lost. If you like precious metals, then opt for some sterling silver toe rings rather than gold ones or diamond studded ones. Silver is far cheaper than gold, so it will not be such a disappointment to lose a silver one. Of course, you can always buy gold or diamond toe rings for special occasions, perhaps for entertaining friends at home. And this way, if the ring slips off, you know it will be somewhere in the house, and you should be able to find it if you search hard enough!

Some people have allergies to cheaper metals, usually the ones containing nickel, so they need to wear precious metals such as gold and silver. If you are one of these people you will need to buy a toe ring that you can be sure will never slip off and get lost. There are two styles to choose from: the split or adjustable, and the fitted type. The split ones are good because they can be stretched to fit any of your smaller toes (they're not great for the big toe!) Unfortunately, this flexibility of the ring is what makes them very easy to lose, as they become loose and fall off. On the downside, they can also slide around your toe and end up hiding the pretty design, and if your skin gets pinched between the two ends it can be very painful.

It is far better to go for fitted toe rings, which are completely enclosed circular rings. These are made to fit one particular toe, unlike the split ones which can be adjusted. It is because of this that they are less likely to slip off your toe and get lost. Also, the designs on fitted ones are normally visible all the way around the ring, so it doesn't matter if it slides around, as you'll still be able to see the pattern. The really great thing about fitted rings is that it spells the end of painful pinching and squeezing that you'd otherwise be getting if you had chosen a split ring. And of course, since you are unlikely to lose one of these, you can happily spend more money getting a nice gold one or a diamond encrusted one if you like.

Some people simply prefer the split type toe rings so that they can switch them around onto different toes if they wear several, and if this applies to you, buy sterling silver toe rings because they are cheaper to replace if you end up losing them. Whatever style or metal you decide to buy, always check to ensure they are nickel-free or hypo-allergenic, especially if you already know you suffer from metal allergies; otherwise you will break out in a rash and have terrible itchiness.
