If you are planning to buy some speakers to set up a home entertainment for yourself and want to install the speakers onto the wall, the first step is to choose the type of speakers that you will want to use. You may want to figure out a good and safe area to mount the wall mount speakers.
Begin by planning your project before you start hammering holes in the wall. First examine your homes design before putting up any speakers. You may need some access to you attic or any crawl space you have beneath your house. This is where you shall need to run the speaker wires from the audio components which will be connected to all the speakers that you use.
Make sure that when you mount any speakers that they are positioned to be in ear level when you are seated, which in most cases is about 36 to 42 inches from your floor. Locate any kind of obstructions that are behind the walls, like studs, wires.
Next you may need to locate the wall studs. When you install the speakers you shall want them to be between two studs. Use a cut out template and the tape the template to the wall just where you will want the speakers to be and trace them, using a pencil.
Then cut the hole and drill a half inch hole in one inside corner of the template then cut around the four edges and then remove the dry wall. You can then run the wires over the attic space and the run some wires underneath your floor, if you have a basement. Run wires along the floor just behind the baseboard, then up through the wall and into the speakers.
The next thing to do is to secure the speakers to your wall then after you do that tightened up everyone of the screws that are located on the front of the speakers. Then turn on the speakers to test out the sound. Begin with a low amount of volume to prevent any damage from occurring to the amplifier and if there is no problems then you are set to begin to enjoy your newly wall mounted speakers.
