Fight Cellulite Using Ultrasound

The sad fact is that every woman will get cellulite. For some, it will be virtually invisible and will only appear if the skin is pinched. But for others, the condition can be very apparent and will cause self-esteem issues and problems with wearing revealing clothing.  Many women try to get rid of cellulite with at home treatments like exercise, diet, do it yourself body wraps and homemade anti cellulite cream. Unfortunately, for a sizable number of women these treatments will not be effective and it often leads them feeling down and disappointed.

Treatments found in beauty clinics are generally more effective than at home treatments. Commercial massaging and laser machines like Endermologie and TriAcitve that are found in these clinics can do an excellent job at reducing the appearance of cellulite. A recent addition to these commercial treatments is ultrasound.

Initially it may seem funny to think that ultrasound can get rid of cellulite. But when you realize that ultrasound has been used effectively to treat muscle problems like tendinitis, cramps and tears it seems logical that the ultrasonic waves can have an effect on the tissues of the body. In the case of cellulite removal, the ultrasound waves effect the fat cells under the skin (which is where cellulite forms) and ruptures them so that the body can easily flush them out. Often, a gentle massage is performed after the ultrasound is applied to assist the body in removing the fat cells that have been released.

While there are a number of machines used for ultrasound cellulite treatment, the most commonly found is called Dermosonic. A treatment on this machine by a trained beauty therapist is generally priced at $80 US. The majority of patients will need about 12 to 15 sessions to get their final results. Dermosonic has only just been released into the USA from Europe and so is not widely available at this point in time.
