Methods of Cleansing … the High Colonic

August 30th, 2010

The world that we are living in today is full of toxins. Most of these unhealthy toxins are caused by us either directly or indirectly. Fortunately, there are many different ways that we can help our bodies to overcome the amount of toxins that are becoming embedded into our bodies. Our bodies cannot cope with this level of toxic overload and this is where colon clense regimes can help us to lend a helping hand. One of these cleansing regimes is the high colonic. But, before I get into the methods behind the high colonic, I first want to talk a little bit about how these toxins are getting into our systems.

Like I said, it is mostly our fault that the toxins are there in the first place. Most of the toxins are caused by pollution from the factories that are making the products that you use on a day-to-day basis. They are also caused by the engines that we are using to drive our cars which take us to work and back every day. And, unfortunately a lot of the toxins are coming from the food that we are eating. Intensive farming practices have led farmers down the road of chemical fertilization, hormonal treatments, and other nasty issues in order to not only produce better crops but ultimately to provide a larger profit.

The high colonic, and other methods of body cleansing, are essentially trying to mitigate the effects of this toxic overload. The high colonic is basically a method of removing built up debris inside the colon and lower intestines with the aid of a machine. The tube is inserted into the rectum and warm water is used to flush out the system. Sometimes herbs or other agents are added to the warm water in order to add extra benefits or more thoroughly cleanse out the intestinal system. Much better benefits can be gained over the long term by changing the lifestyle of the person. Eating a healthy diet, maintaining a healthy exercise regime, and drinking plenty of fresh water are the main things that are going to give a person a longer and healthier live.

The Effectiveness Of A Shiatsu Massage

August 21st, 2010

A few decades ago in America massage therapies were seen as a hokey ritual that didn’t have any real benefits and so it was cast aside by the medical community. In America it seems that we have an issue of accepting new ideas until we can actually prove them to be reality. Thankfully by the late 1900’s doctors started to find the evidence they need and now in the new millennium medical professionals agree that massage therapy is a legitimate form of therapy not just a form of relaxation.

The more we learn about how our mental health affects our physical health is one of the principles that point to just how effective a massage can be. Our brains control our bodies and when the brain sends a signal that tells the rest of the body it is sick then the body agrees. There are lots of people that go to the doctor regularly that don’t have any actual illness but their bodies are ill just because the patient convinced their brains they were sick.

The Shiatsu massage can help us to manage our stress levels as well as offering viable physical therapy too. This type of massage is performed by a trained therapist primarily using their fingers to apply pressure to the client’s body. The therapist is trained to know where the pressure points are and how to properly approach them without hurting the client. As the therapist works out all the knots and stiffness from the body our muscles as well as our minds begin to relax. Many clients report feeling refreshed and re-energized after a Shiatsu session.

Not only does the Shiatsu technique have mental or relaxation benefits it is also great for rehabilitation therapy. Doctors have found that the Shiatsu massage helps to speed up recovery from neck and back injuries. People that suffer from arthritis or poor blood circulation have also found a Shiatsu massage to be beneficial to their ailments.

Our medical community is more inviting of massage services such as the Shiatsu technique because of their success with helping clients not only with relaxation but also with physical healing as well.

Perfume Review: Baby Blue Jeans By Versace

August 18th, 2010

This perfume is from 1995 and it’s part of a Versace perfume line that was launched between 1994 and 2000, comprising of perfumes with the word jeans with different colors. The bottle reminds of a coke bottle with the old design. The Versace Jeans perfume line is probably the youngest ever launched of the perfume house, although, of the original line this Blue Jeans is probably the only one still in production.

The opening is soft and citrus, partly mandarin with neroli (bergamot), partly lavender with jasmine and violet. In the middle phase, the citrus become warmer with a soft vanilla note with a touch of wood. This effect becomes more and more intense as time passes. Towards the end of the middle notes there are also some soft green notes of ginger and sandalwood, which mix very well with lavender. At the same time the wood and violet notes become more intense. Sandalwood actually reminds of Jazz perfume by YSL. In the base notes the perfume has a light and fresh structure, where wood notes with a trace of ginger stand out.

Although this fragrance was created for teenagers (an example of more “adult” Versace perfume would be Versus), it’s still different from the usual bergamot-based fragrance that the market has to offer, offering wood and neutral soapy notes, which smell adult.

In general, this is a light fragrance. Together with another Versace perfume for men, The Dreamer it’s definitely more suitable for the summer, even in very hot days. In an office environment, it can be used daily without any problem, although it’s more personal than social and will not stand out among other more aggressive perfumes. On the romantic side it lacks of particularly seductive and sensual notes, and it should be considered a fragrance to be worn without any specific social purpose. The ideal age rage starts from 15 years, and with the right personality, it can go up to 60 years. It’s a unisex fragrance, suitable for both men and women.

Stop The Agony With These Acne Products

August 18th, 2010

One of the skin problems that almost everyone dreads is acne. This has seemed to be the perennial problem of every individual and it all boils down to proper hygiene and good nutrition.  Some are indeed trying to choose from a wide range of acne remedies by trial and error. However, doing this will only worsen your acne problem. There are a number of different acne available from acne products for those with sensitive skin to products for acne scar treatment. If you are going to test a number of anti-acne creams and gels, your skin will likely to suffer especially if you are the type of person who does not even care to read the ingredients of the formula.  Before you try anti-acne products in the market, try to keep it simple by opting for natural remedies for acne.
Proper diet and well-balanced meal

You can gain a lot of benefit from eating a well-balanced meal and one of which is having healthy skin. Proper diet and good nutrition are one of the simplest ways to get rid or prevent acne. Make sure that the food that you eat is rich in Vitamin C, A and B-Complex to maintain the strength and vitality of your skin. Drinking plenty of water is also very important for your skin as it keeps it hydrated and moves the nutrients directly through the system. You should drink six to eight glasses of water everyday to keep your skin healthy and obstruct the growth of acne.

Washing and cleansing

Personal hygiene also plays a huge role in keeping your skin healthy. If you have an oily skin and you do not take extra care of your skin, the acne will have a tendency to break out as the oiliness can clog pores and cause bacteria to build up. When these bacteria are not removed, your skin will be more vulnerable to acne. Wash your face with a mild anti-acne soap and remove skin impurities with an anti-acne formula. You can use products that contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to effectively remove acne. It is also advisable that you wash your face with warm water.

Using skin care products

If you have dry skin, it is recommended that you use skin care products such as moisturizers to keep your skin hydrated and healthy looking. You should avoid oily cosmetics as this can only cause acne breakout. Cosmetics with isopropyl palmitate, parabens, sodium chloride and socetyl stearate should also be avoided as these ingredients can cause acne. You should only use cosmetics which have mild ingredients to prevent skin irritations and acne.

Never touch or scratch your acne

The sight of red acne is indeed hard to resist. It will sometimes tempt you to scratch or squeeze it which will only make it even worse. Do not touch your pimple even if you have the urge to do so. Just let the pimple or acne heal on its own. Squeezing or scratching it will cause acne scar which is even harder to remove than the acne itself.

You do not have to endure the pain of acne forever as these can be prevented by trying these uncomplicated acne remedies. If your acne is already severe and if following these simple treatments does not seem to work, you should consult a doctor for some anti-acne formula recommendations.

Benefits Of Facial Exercises

August 16th, 2010

If you are looking for a safe and inexpensive way to get rid of wrinkles, undesired facial effects like eye bags, crow’s feet, chubby cheeks and double chins, there are effective and easy ways to achieve this. Gone are the days when plastic surgery, which is very expensive, unsafe and with long lasting effects that you should avoid was the craze, facial exercises is the right way to get this done now. You can get back your youthful face, without spending a dime just as long as you know what exercises to do and how to do them. If you undertake regular facial exercises, some of the benefits you will enjoy include improved blood circulation, better skin toning, greater collagen and elastin production, skin pores opening up because of balanced oil distribution and the removal of excess fluids and puffiness on the face. You do not even need to exercise the whole day to achieve this, just a few minutes of your time is sufficient to give you great results within a few weeks.

Facial exercises are simple to perform and you can do them anywhere. They may look ridiculous or bizarre, I would suggest you do them when you are alone because the exercises mainly involved facial expressions you are used to like grinning, chewing nodding and shaking the head among others, only that this time they are done in variation and with greater intensity. Many people keep their faces naturally beautiful through facial exercise and you can too, just the way you keep the rest of the body in good shape through exercise. Let us have a look at some of the exercises and the areas they target to help you go for the right exercises and know what is in store for you.

Eye exercises – excessive tv watching, fat on the face and stress that leads to insomnia takes a toll on the area around the eyes. This will lead to undesired effects like eye bags and dirk circles. You can get rid of these through eye exercises that will focus on relaxing tight muscles, restoring skin elasticity and toning the facial skin.

Forehead exercises – The forehead needs attention, bearing in mind that it take so much beating especially from the environment and facial expressions. The lines on the forehead can be done away with by gently rubbing the forehead to even the skin tone and restore the elasticity of the skin.

Cheek exercises – if you have problems with chubby cheeks and puffed up face, you need to do lots of cheek exercises to burn the fat. The same will apply when you are trying to get rid of double chins that make one look terrible, there are a number of double chin exercise options that will safely and naturally deliver the result.

Other areas that have specific exercises to help improve the facial health and appearance are the lips, neck and the area around the nose. Exercises are invaluable for a person who cares about their health and the way they look.

Asbestos Litigation Has Been Around For Decades

August 13th, 2010

Big companies and industries live off of profits.  Unfortunately, for many of these companies,  profit has been the only consideration.  These same companies have sacrificed environment and health to maximize their profits.  Money is the only priority for them that is more important than the life of the company and humans alike.  The creation of class action lawsuits has helped combat the greedy ways of these businesses.  Asbestos litigation is a perfect example of a way to fight and rectify the acts of the greedy tycoons.

The history of asbestos litigation goes back further into history than some manufactures of the material want the public to know.  You see these companies have gone out of their way to not only hide the effects of the deadly fiber but to also hide the victims.  Widespread public knowledge of the acknowledgment of responsibility in the form of a settled lawsuit would cause exactly what happened anyway.  What has happened is that the majority of the businesses have gone bankrupt from either paying settlements or in the attempt to dodge being financially responsible for the victims.

Ironically, the delay in admitting the dangers of the product has created many more victims and many more lawsuits costing even more money and tragically lives as well.  Many companies could have mitigated the financial burden if they had simply chosen to be honest about the risks and inform the public how to handle the fibers safely.  Instead, they have created an epidemic with the secrets that has ensured that asbestos litigation history is far from history.

Asbestos litigation is occurring at higher rates than ever and shows no sign of slowing down.  The first case was filed in 1966 and proliferate use of the material unfortunately ensures that we have no idea when the last case will be filed.  One thing is certain; we will see the effects of this scourge for many years to come.

TAKING CARE OF TOOTH DECAY, BUT NOT IN THE OLD FASHION WAY

August 13th, 2010

Taking care of tooth decay used to be a messy and painful business. To drill teeth dentists would numb the patient, and then would drill out the decayed part of the tooth, along with healthy parts of the tooth that were too close for the drill to handle. Thanks to air abrasion, drilling is no longer a problem.

Air abrasion is a new technique that is used at Milpitas Dental. Air abrasion uses a tool that is like a sand blaster. It blasts a fine stream of particles, made from silica, aluminum oxide, or a baking soda mixture; at the decayed area of the tooth. This dental tool removes small areas of decay at a time, maximizing the amount of healthy tooth that is left.

There are many advantages to air abrasion than there are to drilling teeth. The tool generates no heat, sound, pressure or vibration. This makes it possible for the dentist to use less anesthetics on the patients. Air abrasion is best for children who have dental fears who also have minimal decay. This new technique cannot be used on deep cavities, because some studies have shown that the air moving the particles will make the tooth extra sensitive to air afterwards. Air abrasion can be used on shallow cavitites, and dentists can fix multiple sites of tooth decay in one visit.

A Milpitas cosmetic dentist would use this tool when cleaning out tooth decay because it reduces the risk of chipping or cracking the tooth, unlike the drill. Air abrasions can also be used to remove stains or discoloration caused from dark liquids like red wine and coffee. It is a simple and quick procedure that will produce a longer lasting and brighter smile. If you feel like your teeth aren't the brilliant white like you would like don't hesitate to look into getting your dentist to whiten them.
