Yard work may be good exercise, but if you have little time, a huge yard, or a back injury it quickly becomes quite a hassle. So what is all this hubala-ho that you keep hearing about the elusive kitchen plastic basket and how amazing they are! Is it just some kind of a ploy to get you to buy them or are they actually that good? Well, if you ask me , as a mother of three children, they really are the best thing since sliced bread if not better than it - after all, I use a plastic food basket to serve up my cooked bread don't I? This is the reason why you don't need to worry too much about what basket, bucket or plastic bin to get when you are sitting there choosing which basket is the best for your current setup and requirements. There is a simple formula that I use when I am working to decide which plastic storage bin will be the best fit in which color. Buying them in certain colors is great for not only the aesthetic of your home but it also helps with the aesthetic value that you are looking to add to your home. For rooms that are done up in bright colors, consider using matching plastic baskets and for rooms that have been done in warm or more subtle colors use brightly colored baskets. Travel clocks are indispensable items to have in your carry on bag or luggage for your vacation. True, most hotels have a wake-up service but if you are in a hotel or accommodation that does not, then you will need to be responsible for your own waking up. Add to that multiple time zones and the disrupting of your body's normal sleep patterns and you have a few good reasons to pack your own clock.
There's a few types of travel clocks that are used these days. The first is the traditional or classic analog clock. This is otherwise recognized as a clock which has an hour, minute and second hands. To be really traditional you may still find wind-up clocks which don't require batteries. Most often though, analog clocks will be battery powered.
Digital clocks are the most common with LCD or liquid crystal display being the common type. These clocks need some form of illumination to be seen in the dark. Often they will have other features such as temperature readouts, alternate time zone times and even flashlights built in.
Atomic travel clocks are a high tech add-on to the digital clock. An atomic clock connects with the nearest government atomic timing system via radio signals. This clock will always stay in time no matter where you are. There are some regions where they will not be able to connect with the signal so check into this before you head off to remote areas.
When shopping for a suitable travel clock, look for these features:
- Small size, light weight
Most people have a propensity to overpack so having a small, light clock is very important.
- Protective Case
Your clock will be banging around in your carry on bag or luggage. A hinged case which doubles as a support stand is usually the best idea. Make sure the clock feels reasonably sturdy and well made (as much as the common cheap plastic can be well made anyway).
- Alarm Features
Check out the sound of the alarm and snooze features. Can you change the alarm tone? Do you want multiple alarms?
- Batteries
Does the clock need common AA or AAA batteries or slightly harder to find watch batteries. How's the battery life?
- Display
Is the display clear for daytime viewing and, with a backlight, nighttime viewing?

If you're looking for somewhere to keep your RV, then you have a lot of things to take into consideration. Will the RV be taken care of? Is the storage space secure? Do I trust the people who run it? These can be difficult questions to answer, especially if you've never looked for storage space before. If that's the case, then here are some of the most important considerations to put into place with RV storage.
For starters, the quality of the facility is the biggest question you have to answer. Is it well maintained? Is it manned 24 hours, or at least is somewhere that security isn't a concern? The only way you can really answer this question is by looking at the facility itself, getting a tour of the grounds, and talking to the owner about how the building is operated. You may also want to ask neighbors or friends if they've used the place, or know of anyone who has. These are important questions, and if you can't get satisfactory answers, you may be better off going somewhere else.
Another question to ask is, do you keep the building up to speed? Is it climate controlled? It may not have to be, but a climate controlled building will maintain your equipment a bit better (though it will also be more expensive). Look at the doors, are they sealed well? Do you see any evidence of rats on the premises? This also may not be such a huge deal - especially if it's a facility in the country - but you just want to know as much as possible about the location.
These are just some of the preliminary questions to ask yourself when starting to look into a facility that makes it's money off of long term storage. By keeping them in mind, and digging into the answers you get from them, you can quickly tell if any particular RV storage facility is one you want to do business with.
